Whats the grooming routine like?
Grooming an XL American Bully is relatively simple and low-maintenance, thanks to their short, smooth coat and minimal shedding. A weekly brushing with a soft-bristle or rubber grooming brush helps remove loose hair, reduce dander, and keep their coat looking shiny and healthy. While they don't require frequent baths, a bath every 4–6 weeks—or as needed—using a gentle, skin-sensitive dog shampoo will help maintain coat and skin health, especially for bullies with light or sensitive skin. It’s important to regularly clean their ears to prevent wax buildup and infections, trim their nails every 2–3 weeks, and brush their teeth several times a week to support good oral health. Skin folds around the face or neck (if present) should be gently cleaned and dried to prevent irritation. XL Bullies are typically tolerant of grooming when introduced to it early, and making it part of a calm, consistent routine will ensure they remain comfortable and cooperative. At Bred By Faith Kennels, we encourage all new owners to begin basic grooming habits young, as it helps promote both hygiene and bonding. With just a little regular maintenance, your XL Bully will stay clean, comfortable, and looking their best.
